The Manger lovingly provides a sanctuary for person’s with mental health struggles by facilitating healing through animal therapy and nature.

Services

Therapy with animals by appointment only.

Sessions Include

Orientation with animals, brush & grooming, feeding, cuddling and hug therapy, feel their heart beat and listen.  The silence of animals has its own way of healing.

Location

Cape Breton, Nova Scotia

Satellite Location

The manger also offers the healing of creation in the farm fields along the Margaree River.  Hay is also provided from here to feed the animals.

We are pleased to host a tea luncheon in May and encourage your participation in this community-driven event. Our organization prioritizes community support. The healing power of animals is remarkable, and we see its effects daily. We strive to be a reliable source of help for those struggling.

Animals can encourage activity, which can improve fitness. Playing with, tending to, or just spending time with animals lowers stress and lowering stress improves your mental health in many ways, including reducing anxiety, improving concentration, and enhancing your mood.

Time spent with animals &  in natural environments  has shown to improve cognitive performance.
